The store was opened in April 2010 after owner Mark was made redundant from Millets and realised that there were no outdoor shops in Telford. His aim was to set up a store that was not just another shop but somewhere that could provide advice and information on a range of subjects from boot fitting to local walks. In order to achieve this, the right staff, brands, products and training would be needed with getting the right staff the top priority.

At All Terrain our staff are all outdoors enthusiasts so that when we recommend a product it is not because we are on commission but simply because we believe that that is the best product for that customer’s needs and budget.

To support the staff with their advice a great deal of time and attention is given over to selecting the right brands and products. Unlike many other companies we carry a range of products allowing us to cater to a huge range of customers from a casual walker tackling nothing more difficult than the local woods, right through to a seasoned walker attempting to scale Kilimanjaro.

Complementing the right staff and the right products is continual staff training to ensure that our knowledge stays up to date and is continually expanding.

So although we are happy to trade online we would much rather prefer that our customers visit us in store where the kettle is usually on and the staff are eager to chat about subjects that they regard as their hobby.
